It rather denotes a lack of courage! ~Aunt Frances Owens "Practical Magic"EileenDallahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14183014409396491658noreply@blogger.comBlogger93125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6569629169699529189.post-79126030133410206442016-11-25T05:07:00.000-08:002016-11-25T05:09:34.100-08:00Dark Days Ahead

November 10, 2016, our world woke up to Donald Trump as our new president. Such a sad, sad way to start the day and the rest of our lives. I won't say we are doomed, although, that's what it feels like. They say it's always darkest before the dawn and I hope that is true because a darker day I have never seen. All of the strides our country has made in human rights, and ecological advances will be set back a hundred years if he has his way. Rape will become common place and the rapists will walk free, the big companies will be allowed to rape and pillage our Mother Earth in the name of “progress”, bigotry will once again rule and the greed of the very rich will be allowed to continue to grow until it destroys us all. Our only hope are the young, they at least have the sense and courage to stand up for what is right and will not lay down and let him and his political machine roll over them.

The Hopi's predicted this long, long ago, it is the beginning of the end of life as we know it. But they also predicted that we will survive this and become a better world for it, which gives me hope for the future of our children and grand children.

The revolution has begun and not just in this country, it is world wide. The Awakening has begun and even Trump is not strong enough or rich enough to turn it back. We will win, but I think the cost will be high and very painful. Wish it could be otherwise, but we have to feel the pain to understand and appreciate the good that will follow.

Sandalwood is one of the most valuable woods in the world. All parts yields Sandalwood oil, particularly the heartwood and the roots, which yield about 6 percent essential oil. Recorded in Ayurvedic medicine and Egyptian embalming, the oil is now used as an inhalant for its expectorant and sedative effect on coughs and as a powerful antiseptic for lung and urinary tract infections. Sandalwood makes a popular incense, as its calming effect aids meditation. It is commonly used for funeral pyres in India, where devotees believe the scent protects places from evil spirits.

Crisp Zucchini Bites with Garlic Aioli Dip

Ingredients for Zucchini Crisps:
1 large or 2 medium green or yellow zucchini, sliced into 1/2″ thick rounds
1/2 cup all-purpose flour for dredging (seasoned with 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper)
2 eggs, beaten, for egg wash
1 1/2 cups Panko Bread Crumbs
Oil for sautéing (Use something with a higher smoke point like grape seed oil or canola)

For the Garlic Aioli Sauce:
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove, pressed
1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper

How to Make the Best Zucchini Chips:
1. Create an assembly line: In the first bow, mix together: 1/2 cup flour with 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. In the second bowl, beat two eggs with a fork. In the third bowl, add 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs. Tip: You’ll be less stressed if you complete steps 1-4 and bread all of the zucchini before the oil is hot and ready, then you can keep an eye on them in the pan without worrying about them browning too much.

2. Dredge all sides of zucchini chips in flour.

3. Next, dip them in the beaten egg mixture; they should be completely coated in egg.

4. Transfer zucchini to the bread crumbs bowl and coat both sides of zucchini with bread crumbs. It helps to scoop the breading on top of the zucchini pieces so when you grab a hold of them to turn them, your fingers won’t get wet and later get so crusted up in panko that they aren’t useable (been there). If this does happen (and it might despite your best efforts), keep calm and wash your hands, then continue.

5. Heat a large, non-stick, heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat and add about 1/4″ oil (enough to generously cover the bottom). Note: The oil is hot enough when your zucchini is simmering in the pan, but it should not be snap, crackle and popping out of control. Once the oil is hot, add breaded zucchini chips and saute about 3 minutes per side or until golden brown on each side. If browning too quickly, reduce heat. Once zucchini are done frying, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels and serve warm with aioli sauce.

How to make Aioli Sauce/ Aioli Dip:
1. In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup mayo, 1 pressed garlic clove, 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Stir to combine.
Add wet ingredients and stir just until combined, but still a bit lumpy. Do NOT over mix; over mixing will ruin the texture of the finished muffins. Also? Don't over mix the batter. Finally, don't over mix. Scoop batter into muffin tins that have sprayed with cooking spray. Using a large ice cream scoop, I got 8 medium-large muffins out of this batter; I think you could get 10-12 muffins by distributing the batter a little less generously. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they just start to turn a bit golden at the edges.
Parmesan Baked Pork Chops

4 boneless pork chops

1 T. olive oil

1 C. parmesan cheese (I used Kraft)

1 C. Italian bread crumbs

1 tsp. pepper

1 tsp. garlic powder

On a plate combine the last 4 ingredients. Rub the pork chops with olive oil and then dip (coat) each one in the cheese mixture. Press the mixture over the pork chops to make sure they are well covered in it. Line a pan with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Place the pork chops on the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

But a shining gold light in the shape of a sphere.

Before they went homeward to seek out their rest,

It lit on the tree top where they could see from afar

The golden-like sphere turned into a star.

Before I've gotten my first cup of coffee down I've been blasted with a "politically correct Popeye", (no pipe or tattoo), some woman who rewrote Harry Potter to fit her Christian ideals, Thor is now a woman, and Wonder Woman has been reduced to the side kick of Batman and Superman in a pantsuit. What the hell is wrong with this world. Why is everyone trying to shove their ideas on the rest of us by trying to change what we have known all our lives? What makes you think your beliefs and ideas are any more important than mine? I live my religion and beliefs, they are mine and make me who I am. If you don't agree with me that's fine. I don't want you to change the way you think or live, so please don't try to change mine.
I'm so tired of "Politically Correct" I could puke. A tattoo and corn cob pipe doesn't make Popeye an evil demon who will turn your kids into monsters, in fact in my opinion you are the ones doing that by making them think the whole world should bend to their will just because they think they are more important than the rest of the world.
If you don't like the book Harry Potter and don't want your kids reading it, keep it away from them. Write your own book, don't take something that already exists and rewrite it to fit your own beliefs. This just shows your lack of imagination and intelligence.
Changing Thor into a woman does not change the fact that He is a God, maybe not your God, but a God to many people who still follow the Norse spiritual path and no less important to them than your God is to you.
And last but not least Wonder Woman. She was one of my childhood heroines, a strong independent woman young girls could look up to and who represented the kind of woman they could all aspire to be. By taking her out of her role as the champion every young girl could look up to you're telling them that all they can hope for is to be the subordinate of some muscle bound, egotistical man. Not something I want my daughters and grand daughters to believe.
Today is the day to Unify for World Peace. Take your first step toward accomplishing Global peace by letting go of you own self righteous prejudices and allow people to live their own lives and walk their own paths peacefully.EileenDallahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14183014409396491658noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6569629169699529189.post-35977241381124044762014-09-14T09:52:00.002-07:002014-09-14T09:52:16.659-07:00
